Rohner Manufacturer information

In 1930, Jacon Rohner founded a sock factory in the Swiss Rhine Valley, which was famous at the time for its textile factories. In order to produce socks and stockings of the highest quality, he acquired the recently invented circular knitting machine, which helped "Rohner socks" to achieve the highest quality and comfort. This principle has remained unchanged to this day, and yet every day thought is given to improving hosiery. But wearing comfort, the highest quality and the best fit are always maintained.

The history

  • 1930 – Jacob Rohner AG is founded in Balgach, Switzerland. Purchase of special sock and pantyhose machines for industrial production
  • 1952 – Renewal of the entire machine park and breakthrough of the "Rohner" brand as a byword for quality
  • 1980 – Introduction of the sock with non-slip tube "supeR". Since then it has been the best-selling product on the market
  • 2002 – Market launch of the compression sports sock
  • 2007 – World innovation: numbered socks so that socks can no longer be mixed up when washed
  • 2011 – Rohner-Rock: First special climbing sock
  • 2013 – Introduction of the "Your next Footprint" strategy with the supeR organic cotton sock

The technology

Since the founding of "Rohner", the company has placed great emphasis on quality, functionality and comfort. This is achieved through selected materials, high-quality workmanship, optimal fit and durability. In order to design the perfect sock for sporting activities, suitable textiles have been used which keep moisture, odours and germs at bay. Compression socks are especially important during sports to promote the return of blood and stay fit.

Bioceramic fibre

Bioceramic fibres are an important component of a high-quality sock. This is because they are responsible for the sock's temperature-balancing, moisture-regulating, odour-inhibiting and antibacterial properties. Various organic minerals are first fused together and finely ground. The addition of liquid polyester fibres creates bioceramic fibres that can be further processed. With the innovative compression knitting technology from the manufacturer, all the outstanding properties of bioceramic fibres are combined with circulation-promoting effects. Because not only the oxygen supply of the muscles is promoted, but an overacidification is counteracted.
