Regatta Manufacturer information

At the beginning of the adventure in 1981, only 12 employees were a part of Regatta. It has always been important to the company that customers go outside and enjoy nature through their clothes and not have to worry about how much it cost. This principle has not changed. Regatta stands for new ideas, helping people and giving them advice.

The people in charge

Regatta places a high value on good relationships and cohesion within the company. Links with overseas suppliers, factories and communities allows knowledge to be shared and increases the level of transparency. This approach has been very useful in engaging with the Ethical Trade Initiative. For local and international communities, Regatta does a lot, volunteering and providing financial support to non-profits. An internal development team was formed by workers from different departments to contribute and develop ideas. By bringing together many different people, major global initiatives have already been launched. Huge projects like building a school in Bangladesh, or small projects like fruit and vegetable donation drives at local horse stables have already made a big difference. Every day the products and the way of working with people are improved.

Environment

Regatta aims to have an extensive recycling programme to reduce any negative environmental impact of the work area and warehouse in England. Therefore, maritime companies are selected with licensed and audited programs that handle waste responsibly and operate in the spirit of energy optimization. Regatta spends a great deal of time ensuring that we act in accordance with the REACH (Council for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) regulations to the best of our ability.

Products

Regatta takes care to reduce the environmental impact of its designs, developments and productions. For example, all products are free of PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid), an acid used in many outdoor products to provide durable water repellent protection, but which is carcinogenic. Furthermore, only trustworthy and honorable suppliers are selected.
