Hilleberg – Constantly striving for perfection

Hilleberg produces durable products that can be used for 30-40 years. Even after this time, functionality is still guaranteed. Damaged individual parts can be replaced by the manufacturer. The materials used comply with the chemicals regulation of the European Union (REACH – Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals). No chemicals are used that are excluded by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Thus, Hilleberg guarantees that no hazardous substances are used. Furthermore, Hilleberg products are manufactured in Europe. For every tent sold, a tree has been donated to the Vi-Skogen organisation for more than 35 years.

Furthermore, Hilleberg wanted to make its tents easily comparable. For these reasons, the brand assigned different basic principles to its tents. According to this, the "ideal" tent does not correspond to a maximum exploitation of these principles, as some of them are contradictory, such as low weight and high durability, but to a healthy and balanced mix of the principles defined by Hilleberg:

• Reliability:
  It is essential for a tent to function reliably even in extreme conditions and not give up the ghost prematurely – whether on challenging trekking tours with bad weather conditions or on the home campsite with blazing sun.

• Handling:
  A tent must be easy for the user to handle and this also includes the characteristic that the tent can be set up easily and, above all, quickly. It would be all the more annoying if you had to deal with the complicated erection of the tent after an exhausting day's hike.

• Comfort:
  Comfort includes not getting your feet wet during your entire stay in the tent. However, if the tent does not allow for ventilation through the tent wall, it can also be very uncomfortable because bad air will then build up inside the tent.

• Versatility:
  The tent must be able to adapt to different conditions. It is important that it provides a certain size for the user, while allowing for a small pack size so that it can be easily used in any conditions.

• Durability
  With a premium product, you are not making a short-term purchase, instead you want to use it reliably for several years.

• Low weight:
  A low weight is definitely beneficial in all areas, because what good is the best tent if it is simply too heavy for backpacking over the Alps, for example. These concepts make it relatively easy for everyone to set their preferences for a tent that is "ideal" for them. The result is that you get a product that is perfectly suited to you and which will continue to provide reliable service for years to come.
