Julius Edelmann and Carl Ridder founded Edelrid in 1863. Starting with cords and fishing lines - today one of the most modern mountain sports companies worldwide and part of the Vaude Group since 2006.

Edelrid produces several million meters of climbing rope per year and is proud that every meter is bluesign® certified, protecting the environment and resources. In addition to ropes, they develop everything a climber's heart desires. In addition, Edelrid develops and optimizes all products in close cooperation with professional athletes, DAV mountain guides, cooperation and sponsoring partners as well as employees who are enthusiastic about mountain sports. Edelrid complies with the quality management standard DIN ISO 9001:2008 as well as all requirements of the PPE directive (Personal Protective Equipment).

1953 | Edelrid introduces the first kernmantel rope and thus revolutionizes safety equipment in mountain sports. |
