Valandre Manufacturer information

The French manufacturer of down jackets and down sleeping bags offers first-class products and can look back on many years of experience in mountaineering.

The insulation

One thing is clear: it's the down that counts, at least for the most part. At Valandré, an expedition sleeping bag is made of "premium down" of the highest quality. The down comes from the unique, incomparable and 100% pure "greasy" grey geese from Toulouse. It consists of 95% clean large tufts and 5% other filaments and micro feathers. The greylag geese are bred on specialised farms under the strictest conditions – for example, males and females must be able to move freely in the fields. Down that gives warmth and security!

Outer and inner material

Only the best materials in the world are used in Valandré, all the materials come from Asahi-KASEI in Osaka Japan. The fabric is woven according to strict traditional Japanese rules and techniques in independent factories. Asahi's polyamide 6.6 yarn is world renowned for its quality. Woven into WR Impact 6,6 Polyamide Rip-Stop it is an ultra-lightweight and durable fabric that is water repellent and breathable. In addition, the inner material is even more breathable for optimal comfort.

Valandré's philosophy

"If you are looking for our philosophy, we have to disappoint you: We don't have a philosophy at Valandré. Developing technical, high-alpine expedition gear is not a pony farm where designers ride unicorns... Our responsibility is to produce reliable gear where no compromise can be allowed.
