Ternua Manufacturer information

"Non gogoa, han zangoa" – "where there's a will, there's a way" This is the motto of Ternua. Founded in 1994, the company develops and manufactures functional outdoor clothing.

About Ternua

The family-owned company based in Modragon/Basque Country has long been regarded in Spain as a leading manufacturer of mountain sports and outdoor clothing. Ternua was inspired by Basque fishermen who went whaling intrepidly, courageously and respectfully over 500 years ago. Nature, solidarity, adventure and respect for the environment are the focal points of the brand's philosophy. The whale fin is part of the Ternua logo. So it's no wonder that Ternua works closely with the activist organization "Whale Adoption Project" and has adopted 4 whales.

Technical materials

When choosing fabrics and textiles, Ternua relies on the most technically advanced technologies. Schoeller, Polartec Alpha or Gore Tex Pro are processed into products for the highest demands. Proprietary technologies such as Dryshell, Windshell, Shelltec, Microshell, Shellstretch or Thermashell are also used.

Environmentally friendly

Ternua focuses on sustainability and on keeping the impact on the environment and nature as low as possible in all activities. Since 2009, Ternua has mainly used textiles with bluesign® certification. A standard that guarantees the environmental friendliness of the entire production chain. In addition, Ternua manufactures 55% of its products from recycled or recyclable organic and functional raw materials.

Award

This commitment is rewarded! The two jackets Kush and Rumtse received this year's Polartec APEX Award. The jackets were made from Polartec® Thermal Pro®. The material consists of 63% recycled polyester and is bluesign® certified. Ternua has already received 12 Apex Awards with this year's award.
