History
LEKI Lenhart GmbH emerged from Karl Lenhart's wood processing company founded in Dettingen/Teck in 1948. LEKI stands for – Lenhart in Kirchheim. Lenhart was an enthusiastic skier, but he was not satisfied with the quality and functionality of the ski poles of the time, so he began to manufacture handles and plates for ski poles himself using his Hozverarbeitungsbetrieb machinery. These went into production as early as the 1960s. Since Lenhart also had experience in aircraft construction, he knew how to process aluminum and composites. He used these raw materials to produce his first own ski poles and launched them on the market in 1970 under the name LEKI.
Philosophy
The philosophy of Leki is called passion and consistency! With passion and highly qualified employees with many years of experience, LEKI works towards the goal of producing absolute top products. With more than 250 patents, LEKI has fixed as many innovations and patents as hardly any other manufacturer in the outdoor and ski industry.
Innovations
LEKI is the only pole manufacturer that pre-grinds all shafts to ensure optimal pre-treatment for the subsequent processing steps. The poles are degreased and cleaned without chemicals and therefore in an environmentally friendly way. LEKI offers various processes for the treatment of the pole surface, all of which are refined by the final sealing. Leki has developed innovations such as Speed Lock, Super Lock, Trigger S, Folding poles, Aergon or Smart Tip.
