From Olympic freestyle skiing champion to successful sports brand. After the Norwegian Kari Traa was active in a male-dominated sport, she was also supplied by the sponsors with ski clothing that was black and grey and had nothing feminine about it. As a result, it was not uncommon for Kari to remove the logo of the sponsored caps and decorate them with her own designs. In between training and competitions, Kari knitted caps or designed ski wear for women. After the designs were well received not only by her family but also by her circle of friends, she made the decision in 2002 and turned her hobby into a profession. The Kari Traa brand was born.
