Gloryfy Manufacturer information

Christoph Egger was marketing his own product, a mobile phone holder, in 2004 when a friend suffered an eye injury while skiing. The idea of indestructible glasses sprouted in Egger's mind. The already known material silicone is to be used further, but the first attempts fail completely.

2005: A laboratory is built

Fascinated by the idea, Christoph Egger sells the brand as well as the patent of the mobile phone holder in 2005 and concentrates exclusively on the development of Gloryfy. A clean room including a laboratory is to help and carry out the necessary tests and trials.

2006: Testing and tinkering

The main difficulty that arose during testing was finding the right material with which to produce a large quantity.

2008: Do not give up

A low point was reached in the development team. It was clear that a breakthrough had to be made, as time was of the essence in development. The goal was to exhibit at the leading optics trade fair, OPTI. But 24-hour days did not bring success, so that only the concept of unbreakable could be presented at OPTI 2008. The G1 (Gloryfy one) was presented as a sample, but it was only a prototype and they could not think of offering it for sale. The booth was overrun, so that it even had to be closed for a short time. So the interest in "unbreakable" glasses was there. But one was far away from a serial production. 4. October 2008: The first glasses are delivered to an optician in Tyrol. The promise to deliver the first gloryfy unbreakable sunglasses at the beginning of October was adventurous, but it was kept. The delivered products were "true" unique specimens. Thegloryfy G1 was never mass produced out of respect for failure. The first model ready for series production was the G2.

2010: Breakthrough in production

Since mid 2010 Gloryfy glasses can be produced in series. An essential part of the Gloryfy world was the cooperation with artists and athletes, the so-called "gloryfy heroes". In 2010, sunglass models such as Rich:Art, Dust and Lilo Krebernik or ski goggle designs with snowboard legend Michi Albin were created for this reason.

2011: Demand can be met step by step

With serial production up and running, gloryfy is able to meet demand and gradually expand the collection.

2014: Launch of the lifestyle collection and internationalisation

The development step of stylish glasses with filigree frames that are still unbreakable and have the same technical features as the models of the SPORT collection was an important milestone. Gloryfy continues to work with international distribution partners in Italy, Switzerland, Scandinavia and even Australia and New Zealand to incorporate the unbreakable spirit.

2016: Launch of the Optics Collection

Another milestone is the launch of gloryfy optical eyewear, also presenting a total solution. All components, including the lenses, are made of unbreakable polymer NBFX ™.
