dwt-Zelte Manufacturer information

Dieter Winnenknecht was founded in 1986 and has established itself as an outstanding manufacturer of tents for the camping sector. The company stands for high-quality products. Due to the appealing design of the tents, Dwt has made it into the hearts of many campers.

A look behind the scenes

  1. Development/construction

    At dwt, designs are traditionally created on the drawing board. The individual parts are then entered into a CAD system, which calculates the exact cut parts, optimised for the fabric panels.

  2. Material and parts cutting

    A computer-controlled cutter cuts the individual parts precisely - with negative pressure, so that absolutely clean cuts are produced. Depending on the material, the machine can cut up to 60 layers in one operation.

  3. Prefabrication

    The individual parts for each model and size are provided with eyelets, zippers and other accessories.

  4. Sewing/confection

    The employees each produce complete components (side and front panels) and thus all have comprehensive know-how - regardless of whether a series model or an individual model is to be produced.

  5. Finishing

    Individual parts are joined together - in specialist circles this is referred to as the "marriage". Then comes the final inspection. Finally, the finished tent is supplemented with accessories, e.g. curtains or guy ropes - according to the scope of delivery.

  6. Quality control

    Every day, 10 percent of the tents from the current production are assembled and checked for accuracy of fit and manufacturing details
